For those needing to activate Mobile ID on existing cards, follow this step-by-step guide:
First, download the Mobile ID app
After installation, follow these steps:
- Launch the app and select your preferred language
- Accept the terms and conditions
- Input your personal information exactly as it appears on your ARC:
- Full name
- Date of birth
- Registration number
- Phone number
- Complete identity verification
- Set up security measures (PIN or biometric authentication)
Step 1: Arrival at Immigration Office
Visit your jurisdictional immigration office in person as this service cannot be done online.
At Seoul Southern Immigration Office, head to the 2nd floor information desk to get your ticket number.
Step 2: Initial Processing
When your number is called, inform the counter staff that you're there for Mobile ID activation.
You'll be directed to the appropriate booth for processing.
Step 3: Digital Verification
Present your physical ARC to the immigration officer. You'll need to verify and sign your information on a digital screen.
Step 4: Mobile Setup
The officer will help configure the necessary settings on your smartphone and guide you through face recognition verification.
